Special District Manager
The Embarcadero Municipal Improvement District (EMID) is seeking a qualified professional to serve as Special District Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to serve a community-focused local agency that has provided essential services to residents since 1960.
Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the Special District Manager will plan, organize, and manage the day-to-day operations and governmental administrative support activities of the district. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing district programs, services, and resources
- Managing accounting and bookkeeping functions
- Supervising staff and contractors to ensure compliance with agreements
- Monitoring budgets and financial operations
- Maintaining cooperative relationships with representative boards and public agencies
- Serving as liaison with governmental agencies
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of education and experience equivalent to:
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, accounting, finance, business, or related field
- Four years of increasingly responsible professional experience in financial, fiscal, and statistical record maintenance, including supervisory responsibilities
- Proficiency with standard office equipment and software applications, including QuickBooks®
- Strong skills in business administration, budget development, and communication
Special district experience is preferred; training will be provided.
